SIBOL Blog
Welcome to 'SIBOL' - The Archive

OOh! That's a nice Square! How many times does some one say that to you? Can you share the pattern please?

Why not post a photo of the Square you have made for our SIBOL Blankets and then give the pattern details.

Intarsia "Kiss" Square

What a pleasure to be able to post on this lovely blog and share how some of the SIBOL squares have been made!

This was one of the first squares I made and it is a straightforward "Granny Square" which I vamped up a bit  using two colours within the rows.  To do this you must weave in the colour you are not using along the back of the work - I admit it is quite fiddly with a lot of untangling of yarn but I loved the finished square.  Here is a view of the back and if you look closely you will see the weaving effect.

Websites

Web sites for Free Patterns please?

Hi Everyone!

I have received an email this morning saying how beautiful the Squares are in the Blankets.
Sally was asking whether there was a book she could use.  I recommended our Site here and
also the Jan Eaton '200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws and Afghans'.  So many of the
Squares are taken from that book. It is available on Amazon and places like that. In the UK the
book retails at £12.99 but I'm sure you can get it cheaper on-line!

Can anyone recommend any good sites with 'free patterns for Crocheted Squares  please?'.
I'd be happy if you could leave a comment or 'team blog' with us and let us know.

Where do you get your patterns from?

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed on SIBOL The Archive!

My "Daisy" Square

Some of you have told me you like this square:

The pattern comes from here .
Sonieta told me about it first, because I had seen on her blog some beautiful things done by her, based on this pattern.
The pattern is written in Spanish so, if anyone needs help with translation, I will be happy to help.
I hope this is useful!

'Spiralin Granny Square' - Wandas' Square (Puerto Rico)

Beautiful Squares from Wanda (Puerto Rico) today! Thank you so much Wanda!

"Spiralin granny square" by PKOlson. I found this on Craftzine.com blog, and can also be found in Crochet Me "Granny Spiral".

Thanks Wanda!

Welcome to 'SIBOL' - The Archive'

Welcome!

An idea was suggested to me today from Wanda who recently sent me some Squares. Why not have an Archive purely for the SIBOL Squares? Very often we are asked. 'Could you share the pattern details please? Well sitting here now I'm thinking, let's have a go. Let's see if we can make 'SIBOL - The Archive'.

Now all we have to do is.....
Email me for an invite sueatpigsty@talktalk.net (You have to have a blog).

Then you can write your very own post on here. Show the photo of your Square and write underneath
where the pattern came from for example: Jan Eaton's 200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws and Afghans.

That's all you have to do. Shall we see if we can make a go of this?

If you don't have a blog, email me the photo with the details and I will post it on here for you.

Lots of Friends over on SIBOL are always saying they'd like to get better at Crocheting. They want to try new stitches out and new Squares this may be a way we can help. But of course we will keep the main SIBOL blog for posting what we like about SIBOL. Does that sound good to you?

Please join us!
Hugs Sue
